How to Plan a Birthday Party at Gamestorii: A Step-by-Step Guide

Group of friends at a birthday celebration

Planning a birthday at a live-action gaming arena is easier than planning one at home, as long as you follow a few steps. This guide covers everything from choosing a session length to what to bring on the day.

Step 1: Count your players

Gamestorii runs 9 game rooms with a maximum of 40 players at once. Confirm your headcount early, including parents or friends who want to watch rather than play.

Step 2: Pick a session length

Sessions run 60, 90 or 120 minutes. For kids under 12, 60 minutes is plenty. Teens and adults usually prefer 90 or 120 minutes so every team gets a shot at the leaderboard.

Step 3: Book a weekend slot early

Saturday and Sunday afternoons fill up fastest. Book at least a week in advance and arrive 15 minutes before your slot for the briefing.

Step 4: Sort out the waiver

Every player signs a short waiver before playing. You can fill it online in advance so your group walks straight into the arena.

Step 5: Plan the cake moment

The best time to cut the cake is right after the final scores are revealed, when the energy is highest. Ask the team on the day about where and when you can set up.

What to wear

Comfortable clothes and closed shoes. Some challenges involve movement, so avoid heels and loose accessories.
